More Than Hair Removal.  Remove the Little Things That Bother You.

Most people know electrolysis as the only FDA-approved method for permanent hair removal.

But what many people don’t realize is that the same technology can also safely treat a variety of common skin concerns — from spider veins and skin tags to milia and stubborn ingrown hairs.

At Olysis Med Spa, we use advanced thermolysis, a precise radio-frequency treatment that allows us to target tiny imperfections in the skin with remarkable accuracy.

In many cases, these treatments can be completed quickly with minimal discomfort and little to no downtime.

If you’ve ever looked at a small skin issue and thought:

"I wish I could just remove that."

You probably can.

How Thermolysis Works

Thermolysis is a form of electrolysis that uses high-frequency radio wave energy to generate a very small amount of heat exactly where it is needed.

This targeted heat allows us to safely:

• Destroy unwanted hair follicles
• Collapse tiny visible blood vessels
• Remove certain benign skin growths
• Release trapped material beneath the skin
• Improve clogged or dilated pores

Because the treatment is extremely precise, surrounding skin remains largely unaffected.

Most areas heal similarly to a small surface scratch, typically within 1–3 weeks depending on the treatment area.

What to Expect During Treatment

Most advanced thermolysis treatments are:

• Quick — often under 30 minutes
• Minimally invasive
• Performed without anesthesia
• Followed by little to no downtime

You may experience mild redness or a small scab during healing, similar to a minor scratch.

Healing typically occurs within 1–3 weeks depending on the treatment area.

Skin Concerns We Can Treat

Advanced thermolysis allows us to treat many common skin imperfections safely and effectively.

Common issues we see include:

Milia

Spider Veins

Ingrown Hairs
Cherry Angiomas

Stubborn Blackheads
Certain Raised Moles

If you’re unsure whether something can be treated, we are happy to evaluate it during a consultation.

Milia Removal

Milia are small white bumps that commonly appear

around the eyes, cheeks, and forehead. They form

when keratin or oil becomes trapped beneath the

skin’s surface.

Thermolysis allows us to create a tiny opening so the

trapped material can be safely removed, helping restore

smooth skin.

Professional milia removal prevents the skin damage that can occur when trying to squeeze them at home.

Skin Tag Removal

Skin tags are small, soft growths that commonly appear in areas where skin rubs together, including:

• Neck
• Eyelids
• Underarms
• Groin
• Under the breasts

Although harmless, skin tags can become irritating or

catch on clothing or jewelry. Using thermolysis, we gently cauterize the base of the tag

so it can be removed safely and precisely.

Healing is usually quick and similar to a minor skin abrasion.

Spider Vein Removal (Telangiectasia)

Spider veins are tiny red or purple blood vessels that appear close to the surface of the skin, often around the:

• Nose
• Cheeks
• Chin
• Legs

Using thermolysis, we apply controlled heat directly

to the small vessel, causing it to collapse and gradually

be absorbed by the body.

Benefits include:

• Reduced visible veins
• More even skin tone
• Quick treatment with minimal downtime

Spider vein removal using thermolysis is especially effective for small facial veins.

Ingrown Hair Treatment

Ingrown hairs can cause:

• Painful bumps
• Skin inflammation
• Infection
• Dark spots (hyperpigmentation)

Thermolysis allows us to carefully release trapped hairs

and treat the follicle so it does not continue to cause irritation.

This is especially helpful for ingrown hairs in areas such as:

• Chin and neck
• Bikini line
• Underarms
• Beard area

Cherry Angioma Removal

Cherry angiomas are small red spots made up of clusters

of blood vessels. They are completely benign but often become

more noticeable with age.

Thermolysis carefully cauterizes the tiny vessels within the

angioma, allowing the spot to darken and gradually disappear

as the skin heals.

Many cherry angiomas can be treated in just a few minutes.

Clogged Pores & Stubborn Blackhead Removal

Some clogged pores and blackheads become deeply

impacted and difficult to remove through traditional

extractions.

Thermolysis can help break down stubborn blockages

and assist with clearing the pore while minimizing

damage to surrounding skin.

Treating these early can help prevent:

• Enlarged pores
• Persistent blackheads
• Long-term skin damage

Mole Removal

Some raised moles can be removed using thermolysis

when they are:

• Confirmed benign
• Smaller than about 5mm
• Located above the surface of the skin

Your safety is always our priority.

If a mole appears suspicious, we will refer you to a

board-certified dermatologist for evaluation before treatment.
